Dear CIB members,
The CIB Working Group is pleased to invite you to its meeting on the occasion of the UCLG World Summit of Local and Regional Leaders, hosted by the government of Mexico City. The Summit and its side events will take place between 16 and 20 November and will gather around 3000 high-level representatives of cities, regions and other sub-national governments from all continents and international partners.
The CIB Working Group meeting will take place on 16 November from 17h30 to 19h00 in the room Descanso in the Palacio de Minería. This meeting will focus on the validation of the report of activities 2007-2010 and the work plan for the coming period 2011-2013, and will more specifically identify the priorities for 2011.
In the coming weeks we will be sending you the draft agenda and the working documents of the meeting. Please be advised that there won´t be simultaneous interpretation. We would be grateful if you could confirm your attendance to the CIB Working Group secretariat.
In addition, within the Summit´s programme, the Working Group is supporting the World Secretariat in the organization of parallel session 3.1 Local Governments, Partners in International Development, which will take place on November 19 at 17h30. The goal of this session is to inform the preparation of the Local Government and Development Cooperation Position Paper, which aims to demonstrate the effectiveness of development cooperation delivered by and through LGs and LGAs in achieving positive development results. The session will particularly help to ensure that southern voices feed into the discussion.
Please do not hesitate to contact the CIB secretariat should you require any further information: firstname.lastname@example.org or by telephone: +34 93 342 87 53.
