Description

Pharmacological action.

Floxin is an antibacterial drug with wide spectrum of actions of the group of fluoroquinolones. It has a bactericidal action, blocks DNA-gyrase of microorganisms of the enzyme, which is necessary for the process of transcription and replication of bacterial DNA.

Antibacterial spectrum of action includes gram-negative and gram-positive microorganisms such as Proteus.

The drug is effective against staphylococci, including penicillinase producing strains, methicillin resistant strains of various bacteria (Chlamydia pneumoniae, Mycoplasma pneumoniae, Mycobacterium leprae, Chlamydia trachomatis, Ureaplasma urealyticum, Mycobacterium tuberculosis). It has limited effectiveness in infections caused by streptococci groups A, b, C. drug-resistant anaerobes except for Clostridium perfringens bacteria. It has no effect on the causative agent of syphilis. You may buy Floxin on our website.

It is absorbed quickly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. Cmax in plasma is observed during 60-120 minutes after ingestion of Floxin. It is associated with plasma protein 25%. Bioavailability is 96-100%. The drug penetrates well into all tissues, is distributed in all liquid media, including spinal. High concentrations of Floxin are defined in the gall bladder and bile. It is Metabolized in the body to ofloxacin-N-oxide and floxacin-desmethyl. Floxacin- desmethyl has slight antibacterial activity. The half-life is 5-8 hours, but it can be increased to 15-60 hours in case of kidney failure. 80% of the dose is eliminated by the kidneys through tubular secretion and filtration. Less than 5% of the drug is displayed in the form biometabolic, the rest is in unchanged form. 4-8% of Floxin  is eliminated through the intestines. The excretion of the drug is slowed down in case of severe hepatic disease the. Floxin can be bought on our website in unlimited quantity. It passes into breast milk and through the placental barrier.

The renal clearance of the drug is 173 ml/min, total – 214 ml/min. It is excreted through dialysis in very small quantities . In hemodialysis, the half-life is 8-12 hours, in case of peritoneal dialysis – 22 hours.

If you have the intravenous injection of Floxin at a dose of 200 mg, the maximum concentration in the blood is observed after 1 hour. Equilibrium of drug concentration is observed after holding the 4 infusions. During the infusion the half-life is 6-7 hours.

Indications for use

Infections that are sensitive to Floxin:

 diseases of the lower respiratory tract;

 infectious-inflammatory lesions of ENT organs (excluding angina);

 infection of bones, joints and soft tissues;

 infectious diseases of abdominal cavity organs, small pelvis and kidneys;

 prostatitis, gonorrhea, chlamydia;

 wound infection;

 respiratory infection in the background of tuberculosis, lung fibrosis;

 concomitant infections in AIDS;

 shigellosis and salmonellosis.

The method of application.

Floxin doses are determined individually by the attending physician depending on the severity of the disease and the type of infectious agent.

Floxin for infusion: single doses of 200-400 mg (1-2 bottle) 2 t/s with an interval of 12 hours (for adults with intact kidney function). If you have renal failure when creatinine clearance is over 50 ml/min, the dose modification is not required. If there is clearance of 20-50 ml/min, they use the starting dose of 200 mg and then 100 mg/day. If there is clearance less than 20 ml/min, they use the starting dose of 200 mg, and then 100 mg every 2 days. The dose should not exceed 400 mg/day in case of liver failure. The solution for infusion is administered intravenously for at least an hour.

If you notice the improvement of the general condition and the positive response to the drug , the infusion introduction is replaced on the intravenous one at the same dosage. The duration of therapy is 7-10 days.

Floxin pills. Adults use a dose of 1-2 tablets 200 mg 2 times a day, or 400 mg (1 tablet) 1 time a day. The maximum dose per day should not exceed 800 mg. If there are severe violations of liver function the daily dose should not exceed 400 mg. If there is renal failure with creatinine clearance of 20-50 ml/min the initial dose should be 200 mg, then — 100 mg per day; if creatinine clearance is less than 20 ml/min, the initial dose should be 200 mg, then — 100 mg in 2 days. The tablets are prescribed before meals for 30-60 minutes. They should be washed by a small amount of water.

If a pill is missed, you should take the same dose as soon as you remember about it. The valid introduction of 1 daily dose of Floxin can be bought on our website.
