United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG) is working within the umbrella of Cities Alliance to promote and support City Development Startegies (CDS) through our CityFuture Program.
Global experience has shown that the CDS approach is appropriate for local governments to improve their development path and link strategic urban planning and the efforts for achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDG).
UCLG and its regional sections in Africa and Latin America are working with local governments and local government associations to create a learning platform for cities to capitalize on their potentials of urban growth.
