Artane is used for the treatment of stiffness, cramps, spasms, and bad muscle control of Parkinson’s disease. It is also used for the treatment and prevention of muscular conditions, caused by such medicines as chlorpromazine (Thorazine), fluphenazine (Prolixin), perphenazine (Trilafon), haloperidol (Haldol), thiothixene (Navane), etc.

Generic name of Artane is known as Trihexyphenidyl, while the brand name of this drug is Artane.

Dosage

Artane can be found in the dosage of 2mg.

Take the drug orally before or after eating.

If you note that Artane dry your mouth, you should take it before eating, unless it causes sickness. If taken after eating, thirst can be treated by sucking the sugarless candies, bubble gum or drinking water.

To achieve the best results, avoid stopping the treatment abruptly.

Skipping the dose
